Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility, Activities & Booking Information

What is this program?

Our Respite Nights give participants an opportunity to unwind, connect, and build confidence in a relaxed, fun-filled environment. Each week features:

  • Social Skill-Building Games & Icebreakers — interactive activities that make it easy to start conversations, practice teamwork, and make new friends.

  • Movie Nights — theatre-style setup with room for discussion for those who love to chat about what they’ve watched.

  • Board Games & Group Challenges — from strategy to laughter-filled games, we make sure everyone finds something they love.

  • Arts & Crafts — hands-on projects for self-expression, creativity, and relaxation.

  • Music & Dancing — a chance to sing, move, and just have fun in a supportive, judgment-free space.

  • All activities are age-appropriate and focused on fun, friendship, and confidence-building — never basic play materials.

Eligibility & Support

Who is eligible?

The program is currently open to young adults ages 16–25 who benefit from a supportive, structured yet social environment. Other age categories are currently waitlisted, and families will be notified when additional age groups are added.
Our program is eligible for both Special Services at Home (SSAH) funding and Passport Funding for eligible individuals.

Toileting & Personal Care
Participants must be able to manage their own toileting needs independently. Staff are available to provide verbal reminders and general support as needed, but personal care assistance (e.g., changing, wiping, dressing) is not provided during Respite Nights.

Behaviour Support
We understand that some participants may occasionally demonstrate challenging behaviours. Our team is experienced in supporting a range of needs, and we use a proactive, positive approach to promote success.
However, due to the nature of the program, we are not able to accommodate individuals whose behaviours present a safety risk to themselves or others. If higher levels of support are required, we may suggest alternative programming better suited to the participant’s needs.
